Pardon me for missing last week. I was here.
It was wonderful.
But now I'm back, and sucked into the TV world known as The Olympics.
I've been doing handwork in my easy chair. This is the beginnings of a project/program that we will be bringing to you later this year or early next year.
I did work a little bit at the machine yesterday and started on my blocks for August's Marti & Me club.
I also taught my daughter how to English Paper Piece yesterday. She is taking AP Art this coming year in school, and has decided to use fabrics and textiles as the medium for her portfolio. You'd think "YAY!" until you realize her subject area is anatomy. A cross-section of the brain rendered in 3/8" hexagons is gonna be interesting!
I'll be honest, this week I don't know exactly what I'll get done. Perhaps the Marti Michell blocks will magically turn themselves into a quilt top!
What did you do last week?

One Week, One Thing - June 25
The countdown to Market Review continues! The party is this coming Sunday, July 1 at 2pm. Are you coming?
I quilted and bound one more quilt this week.
I also made the new Bridget's Bagettes pattern by Terry Atkinson.
I still have a few more things to finish before Sunday, and then I may take a rest! Hope to see you all this weekend!

One Week, One Thing - April 16
Good afternoon, my friends!
Last week, I completed the quilting and binding on the Kaffe Fassett Collection 1000 Pyramids quilt. We had a few kits in the shop, but they have sold out. It's on our list to re-cut; hopefully we'll get to that this week.
I also played a little bit with the Marti Michell large Drunkard's Path templates this past week. Don't know if I'll be able to get back to it this week.
My number one challenge this week is to completely cut out the pieces for this quilt....
It's called Vintage Rouge and it's a Block of the Month that we will be starting in June and the sample kit just arrived. I need to get busy! The fun thing about this quilt is the dresdens are English Paper Pieced using a striped fabric - it's all an optical illusion!! Perhaps I'll have actual block progress to show next week. But I need to get it all cut out first....
How about you?

One Week, One Thing - April 9
Hello, my friends! I really only got 1 thing accomplished this past week, but it's a big thing!
This will be a new kit coming to TQA in the near future. It's called 1000 Pyramids (actually, 682 pyramids) - all the triangles are die cut from Kaffe Collective fabrics. With die cut triangles and and side setting triangles, this top sews together like a breeze! It's hard to tell in the photo, but the setting triangles and border are a black and white pindot. It sets off the vibrant colors of the triangles and allows them to shine!
My goal for this coming week is to get this bad boy quilted and bound. I already made the binding, so that's one step already finished!
What did you do last week, and what are you hoping to do this week?

One Week, One Thing - March 26
Hey, you guys! I completely forgot to do last week's One Week, One Thing post and none of you reminded me! I've been a little bit under the weather, and I'm blaming the meds. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Two weeks ago, my goal was to cut out blocks for a shop sample. I will say that the blocks are not only cut out, but the entire quilt is finished!
The pattern is Dottie by Cluck Cluck Sew, the fabric is Ten Little Things by Jenn Ski, and the kit is available in our shop.
Because I was feeling kinda punky, I didn't accomplish much more. I did make a handful of EPP Diamond Stars, but that's about it.
This week, I think I'm going to quilt my Double Diamond EPP quilt top! What about you?

One Week, One Thing - March 12
I'm not late - It IS still Monday, right? Daylight Savings Time (especially in the Spring) kinda throws me off kilter!
It was a so-so week, but I did accomplish what I set out to do. Here are all 12 Granny Square blocks made for a baby quilt. Shower is in June, so I have plenty of time...but, I'd rather get 'er done and move on.
Sorry for the cruddy picture - my design flannel is in front of a window, and photos taken during the day don't come out as well as at night. The line of fabrics is Backyard Baby from Michael Miller. I wish I could get this one finished this next week, but there's REAL work cutting in line!
I also finished piecing my EPP Double Diamonds!
I'd like to get this one quilted ASAP too, but it will have to wait also. :(
For this week, I have a shop sample to begin using Ten Little Things by Jenn Ski for Moda. It's a layer cake project, and I hope to at least get all the block parts cut out. Since it is Spring Break, I may have to take my daughter to the mall on my day off, which seriously cuts into my sewing time. We'll see how it goes.
What's new for you this week?

One Week, One Thing - January 16
Have you ever had one of those "but, first" kind of days? You know what I mean. You intend to get something done, but first, you have to do something else. And then something else. And so on. This has been one of those days - I fully intended to get this post up earlier today, but I had a lot of "but firsts" get in my way.
Anyway, it's a brand new week. If you are playing along with me, last week I decided to do our own "One Week, One Thing" challenge here at TQA. I am trying to become more deliberate in how I spend my time (as in, quit wasting so much of it on Pinterest...LOL!) and to focus setting a goal of ONE THING to get accomplished in my sewing and crafting life each week. Remember, it's not FINISH one thing, it's accomplish one thing - and there is a difference. My available time varies from week to week, so some may be small goals while others may be bigger. We'll just have to go with the flow.
My initial goal last week was to get all my Crayon Box blocks put together into a top and add the borders. I got that done and I also quilted it! So, this week just happened to include a finish, but that wasn't the initial goal.
This quilt will go in the Patchwork Express Bus Tour pile and will be given away to one lucky passenger. And yes, we will be giving away more than just this one quilt.
I also had time to work on a few other projects.
I have been working on this Amish Beehive from the book All Dolled Up. The center is English Paper Pieced and has been finished. I appliqued it to the center black and added the borders. Still haven't decided how I'm going to quilt it.
I also am beginning to set my English Paper Pieced double diamond blocks together. We've been making these blocks at the store over the past year.
Please excuse the cat rear end. Willie didn't want to move!
I've been waiting for our Amish With a Twist shop sample yardage to arrive, and I had planned on working on that this week. But, I just learned that it wasn't shipped when they said it would, and I probably won't see it until next week. So, this week, my ONE THING is to cut out and make (5) Farmer's Wife blocks. I'll probably also work on the double diamond hexagons, but I tend to paper piece just a bit every night as I'm watching TV.
So, how did you do? I haven't quite figured out how to do a link manager yet so that you can link to your blog or Flickr or whatnot, so leave a comment with what you DID last week and what you PLAN for this week. Do you feel accomplished? I know I do.
